After a long winter, Spring arrives and everyone is looking forward to the freedom of summer. That makes beach vacations a great idea for the whole family.

And the beach doesn’t have to be on the ocean to be fun, either. A lakeside beach is just as entertaining, and the sun just as warm. Depending on the location, your beach may be very sandy inland, or it may be lawn/grass right up to the water. If you are planning to vacation at a lake, check first to see not only what the ground around the lake is like, but the actual bottom in the water, particularly for youngsters. You may need to provide rubber thongs for little ones with tender feet if the bottom is rocky in the shallows.
